Your use of the Web Sites and Chat interactions as defined below constitutes your consent to this Privacy Policy.

DroneUp, LLC (“DroneUp” or “we”, or “us”) operates the “Sites” referenced in the list of URLs found at the end of this document. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information, Log Data, and Drone Data we receive from users of the Sites.

We use your Personal Information, Log Data, and Drone Data to improve the Sites and to communicate with you. By using the Sites, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

GDPR

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (“GDPR”), effective as of May 25, 2018, European Union data subjects are entitled to certain specific rights with respect to processing of their personal data.

Under the GDPR, in certain circumstances, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information
  • Request that your personal information be erased
  • Object to the processing of your personal information, including processing for direct marketing purposes
  • Request that the processing of your personal information be restricted

  • Withdraw at any time your consent to the use of your personal information
  • Make a complaint to an EU Data Protection Authority where you believe that we have not complied with our obligations under this Privacy Policy or applicable European data protection law (including the GDPR)
  • We will not transfer your personal information to third parties located outside of the EEA without taking steps to ensure adequate protection under the GDPR. If a third party is located in a country not recognized by the EU Commission as providing an adequate level of protection, we will use appropriate measures, such as entering into standard contractual clauses, approved by the EU Commission, to protect your personal information.
Personal Information

While using our Sites, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name, postal address, email address, phone numbers, FAA registration and certificate numbers, social media accounts, third-party logins (i.e., DJI and/or other drone manufacturers), credit card information, chat communications (“Chat”), images, and videos.

We may receive your Personal Information from other sources, such as drone manufacturers, public data sources, marketing partners, and social media platforms. We may receive your Personal Information from your social media friends or from other third parties. 

Log Data

Like many mobile app and site providers, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Sites (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Sites that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

In addition, we may use third-party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor, and analyze this Log Data to give us insights that help us make our products better.

Use of Personal Information and Log Data

We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials, and other information that we think would be potentially useful to you. We may share your Personal Information with third parties in the UAS or related industries for the purpose of contacting you with newsletters, marketing, or promotional material that we think would be potentially useful to you. We may use your Personal Information and Log Data to facilitate social media sharing, chat communications, and credit card payments that you authorize.

We will use your Log Data to help us improve the Sites. We may aggregate your log data with other users’ Log Data to provide general insights on drone operation to drone manufacturers, third-party partners, law enforcement agencies or the FAA.

We may use your Personal Information and Log Data as we believe to be necessary or appropriate to comply with legal requests from public safety and government authorities.

We will not share your physical address or phone numbers with third parties.

Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information

You can review and change your personal information by logging into the App and visiting your account profile page.  Should you wish to delete your account, click on the “Delete my Account” button in the App.  Once you do so, your account will be designated as deactivated for a period of 30 days. During this 30-day deactivation period, you are able to log onto the App and reactivate your account by clicking the “Reactivate” button. If you do not reactivate your account within the 30-day deactivation period, your account and all of your personal information will be permanently deleted from our system.

Media and Sharing Your Information

Any information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to DroneUp, such as User Content, becomes available to the public, as controlled by any applicable privacy settings that you set. Once you have shared User Content or made it public, that User Content may be re-shared by others, including DroneUp. The User Content may be used for promotional efforts by DroneUp, including but not limited to posting on the https://www.droneup.com website and relevant secondary pages, DroneUp social media accounts, DroneUp press releases, and DroneUp news.

Cookies

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Like many sites, we use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Sites.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of November 16, 2017 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the Service after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
