Today, DroneUp founder and CEO Tom Walker was appointed to the Commercial UAV Expo Advisory Board.
The Advisory Board is responsible for curating programming for the international trade fair and conference, which focuses on the integration and operation of commercial UAS. The 2022 event will take place September 6-8 at Ceasar’s Forum in Las Vegas.
"Our entire team is thrilled to have Tom serve on the Advisory Board," said Jeremiah Karpowicz, Editorial Director for Commercial UAV Expo. "For years now, I've admired the work Tom has done to help the drone industry transition from being vision-driven to market-driven. That continual evolution of the technology and market is set to be a big part of the event in 2022, which is why we're so grateful for the continued partnership between Tom, his team at DroneUp, and Commercial UAV Expo."
Tom is a UAS industry pioneer with patents on mobile app technology. He has led pandemic drone delivery testing under FAA Part 107 Regulations with the State of Virginia, which established the partnership team focused on free COVID-19 test kit delivery with Walmart. Soon after that, under Tom’s leadership, the first drone airport, the DroneUp Hub, was founded. And in addition to developing a robust pilot network, Tom and his team are informing a rapidly growing ground infrastructure with the industry’s leading UTM, which provides services for as many as 100,000 international daily flights.
“I’m honored to collaborate with other influential industry leaders and serve on the Commercial UAV Expo Advisory Board to facilitate key conversations that are important to our industry. To continue innovation and drive the drone industry forward, I believe it’s critical to foster opportunities for connection, partnerships, and learning,” said Tom Walker, CEO of DroneUp.
