Homeland Security Today Honors DroneUp’s Chief of Public Safety

December 10, 2018, (Chesapeake, VA) — DroneUp’s Chief of Public Safety, Charles Werner, will be honored in Arlington, Virginia on December 11 as the Homeland Security Today (HST) 2018 Person of the Year with Government Technology Services Coalition (GTSC).

The HST Person of the Year is awarded to an individual who is serving, or has served, the homeland security mission in an exemplary fashion. HST stated, “Mr. Werner, has directly improved, executed, engaged the proper people, agencies and departments necessary to tangibly improve the nation’s prevention, protection, mitigation, and homeland security response capacity.”

The HST awards are the most comprehensive recognition in the nation and are given to federal, state, and local people and teams for their dedication to the communities they serve.

Twenty-four recipients were selected for their roles in forwarding the homeland security mission. Nominations were submitted from across the country by individuals in the homeland security community as a way of recognizing their peers.

HST went on to state, “Mr. Werner’s passion for homeland security runs deep”.
