How to Become A Certified Drone Pilot: The Finale

June 25, 2017

DroneUp is invested in your success as a pilot. Training is an integral part of our upcoming mobile app. We want you to give you the best arsenal of knowledge possible to prepare for the Part 107 exam and promote overall UAV awareness. In an effort to support that, DroneUp will be offering two courses:

UAV Basics course

Part 107 Prep course

The UAV basic course is for new operators and somewhat experienced operators who want to make sure they know the rules of the road. This is a great way to understand the minimal requirements and regulations that apply to all pilots. DroneUp will also issue training missions that sync up with the UAV Basics course to give you real-time opportunities to hone your skills.

The Part 107 Prep course contains all the content for the Part 107 exam you would need to know to pass the test. Our Part 107 practice test is 60 questions, just like the part 107 test that you have to take in person. Part of the training and development in this course is explaining the answers, offering hints and building your confidence in the knowledge you will acquire from studying with us.

Since all of this training occurs within the app, you can also practice real-time skills and track your progress with training missions!

An important note: in order to pass the Part 107 exam, you’ll need to score a 70% (42 or more correct out of 60) or higher on the test. It is only offered in person, and as we mentioned in an earlier post, there is a $150 fee that must be paid in advance to take the test. If you fail, you’ll have to pay again to take the test again. Therefore, it is crucial that you take your time through the training and leverage tools that help you build real knowledge developed by industry leaders.

We can’t wait to show you all of the great training items coming in our app to help you become a better pilot and “air legal”!
